Here are the positions that are opening on our team for the 2020-2021 year.
Position: Editor-in-Chief (1 person)
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for:
- Overseeing the pieces and themes that are featured in each edition of the Journal, along with the editorial team
- Overseeing and coordinating the editorial process and the work of the editors
- Partaking in the recruitment and training of the editorial staff
- Scheduling and chairing all editorial meetings
Position: Editor (4 people)
Editors are responsible for:
- Communicating with the writer(s) they are matched with
- Guiding the writer in their writing endeavours while preserving the writer's original voice
- Being the point of contact between the writer and the Journal
Position: VP Finance (1 person)
The VP Finance is responsible for:
- Overseeing all financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes
- Overseeing and coordinating funding for the programming activities and events of the Journal
- Creating and identifying fundraising opportunities
Position: VP Communications (1 of 2 people)
The VP Communications are responsible for:
- Managing the Journal’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and the listserv
- Creating promotional content and campaigns on our social media platforms
- Providing updates on the Journal’s events and activities
Position: VP External Affairs (1 person)
The VP External is responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining healthy relations with various student groups and other community organizations within and outside McGill for partnerships and collaboration opportunities
- Representing the Journal to the community within or outside McGill and to our collaborative partners
- Helping build public relations with our content creators and audience, both online and offline
Position: VP Administration (1 person)
The VP Administration is responsible for:
- Managing the club email
- Organizing the team schedule (alongside the Co-Presidents)
- Organizing team meetings (involves creating availability polls and meeting agendas, taking and posting minutes, etc.) (alongside the Co-Presidents)
- Updating the team of current club endeavours
